Chinese Spring Festival

The Spring Festival, also known as the Chinese Lunar New Year, is a traditional festival celebrated in China. It is commonly referred to as the Spring Festival or simply New Year. This festival has a long history, evolving from ancient sacrificial rituals held at the beginning of the year. In ancient times, "Nian" originally referred to agricultural tools used for harvesting and sacrifice, symbolizing the ripening of crops (the earliest written form of the character depicted a person carrying ripe crops). People celebrate the harvest through various activities, honor their ancestors, and perform rituals to exorcise spirits, gradually forming the customs associated with the New Year.
